Speech and Language Therapy Services
SOWIC employs over 30 speech and language pathologists across the member districts and specialized programs. Speech language pathologists come together as a whole team quarterly for professional development and to discuss updates within their scope of practice. Based on student’s individual needs, services will be provided through direct or consultation as well as within the classroom setting or pull-out services in the therapy office.
Occupational and Physical Therapy Services
SOWIC contracts physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists and clinical occupational therapy assistants to provide services across our member districts and within our specialized programs. Services are provided through direct services of consultation with the classroom team, determined on an individual student basis.
Social Work Services
The social workers within the SOWIC cooperative support students within our member districts and specialized programs. Aside from providing direct and consultation services to students based on individual needs, the social workers help to connect SOWIC families to community support.
Hearing and Vision Itinerant Services
SOWIC employs both hearing and vision itinerant staff that travel to any of our ten member districts to provide this critical service.
