Reed-Custer Education and Life Skills Program – Early Childhood – 8th Grade

The SOWIC Reed-Custer Education and Life Skills (RC-ELS) program provides students with educational and social experiences to assist them in transitioning to adulthood as active productive members of their community. The program is structured to provide both academic and life skills experiences in a small and supportive environment. Students receive a research-based curriculum with instruction tailored to meet their individual needs. The RC-ELS program is housed in age-appropriate public school settings and provides opportunities for students to interact with typical peers through inclusion in general education activities and community outings. The multidisciplinary team consists of special education teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, a school nurse, s social worker, s psychologist, an adaptive PE teacher, program assistants, and a program administrator. The RC-ELS staff is dedicated to providing a high-quality educational program for children between early childhood (3 years of age) and eighth grade (14 years of age).
